Straits Orthopaedics, founded in 2002, is an FDA-approved orthopedic medical device contract manufacturing firm that provides sophisticated manufacturing services to our global partners and OEMs. With over twenty years in world-class manufacturing in orthopedics, Straits has the experience and expertise in end-to-end orthopedic device manufacturing processes—from raw materials to fully packed items.
Straits operates three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities totaling more than 250,000 square feet, offering best-in-class manufacturing capabilities in machining, post-machining, surface treatment, cleaning, and packing to global OEM clients. A newly opened fourth facility in 2023 added 220,000 square feet of machining space for special processes, boosting our production capacity. A fifth facility is due to be completed and operational by 2024, enhancing our output and quality capabilities.
These sites offer a comprehensive range of technology and equipment, such as CNC mills, CNC Swiss turn, wire and spark EDM, surface treatment mechanisms, laser markings, ultrasonic cleaning and vapor degreasing, passivation, 100K cleanroom for sterile packing, OGP inspection, and other related advance machines.

OUR LOCATION
Straits is uniquely headquartered in Penang, Malaysia, which is centrally located along the Straits of Malacca in South East Asia. Home to an estimated 1.8 million people and attracting a varied range of abilities and aptitudes, Penang is regarded as one of the world’s premier medical device manufacturing hubs. In addition, Penang is supported by world-class infrastructure with direct access to the Penang International Airport and the International Penang Port. This gives Straits an edge in land, sea, and air connectivity. This provides us with avenues to deliver quickly yet remain relatively eco-friendly to the environment.
